Here are few steps that you can perform in order to setup MySQL in Ubuntu.
#Step 1 − Check the apt get command in order to check the things are working or not first of all..
sudo apt-get update
Step 2 − Once the packages are updated. Lets setup MYSQL packages..
sudo apt-get install mysql-server
It may ask you for the root password during installation of the package.
Step 3 − Enter the required password and click ok. It may ask your for re-enter the password.
Step 4 − To check whether MySQL process is running or not please use the following command.
ps –ef | grep mysql
Step 5 − Now in order to configure the mysql please run following command:
Enter password if it prompts.
Step 6 − After entering password hit ok.
It will ask you to change the root password or not.
Step 7 − Type "N" for No to proceed.
You can Remove Anonymous Access
That's it, the configuration of MySQL is done.
